This Privacy Policy describes how SGUsed LLC ("SGUsed," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares your personal information when you use the SGUsed mobile application and related services (the "Platform").
By creating an account or using SGUsed, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: First name, last name, username, email address, and password when you register.
- Profile information: Profile photo, bio, phone number, date of birth, and address, if you choose to provide them.
- Listings: Item descriptions, photos, prices, and categories when you create a post.
- Messages: The content of messages you send and receive through the in-app chat.
- Payment information: When you make a purchase or set up a seller account, payment details are collected and processed by Stripe (see Section 5). We store references to your Stripe account and saved payment methods (card brand, last four digits, expiration date) but do not store full card numbers.
- Support requests: Name, email, and message content when you submit a help or support request, including any attachments.
- Reports: Information you provide when reporting a post, user, or message.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Account activity: Login timestamps, account status changes, and interactions with the platform such as offers, ratings, and transactions.
- Transaction records: Payment amounts, fees, escrow status, and payout details associated with your purchases and sales.
2.3 Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect GPS or real-time location data.
- We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
- We do not collect device identifiers for advertising purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Verify your email address during registration
- Enable you to create listings, send messages, make offers, and complete transactions
- Process payments and manage escrow through Stripe
- Moderate content to maintain platform safety (see Section 6)
- Investigate and respond to reports, disputes, and support requests
- Enforce our Terms of Service
- Send transactional emails such as verification codes and password resets
4. How We Store Your Information
Your data is stored using the following services:

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage. Email verification codes are also hashed. We do not store passwords or verification codes in plain text.
5. Third-Party Services
SGUsed uses the following third-party services to operate the platform:
5.1 Stripe
We use Stripe to process payments, manage seller payouts, and handle saved payment methods. When you make a payment or set up a seller account, your payment information is collected and processed directly by Stripe in accordance with Stripe's Privacy Policy. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
5.2 Amazon Web Services (AWS)
We use AWS S3 to store images you upload, including profile photos and listing images. We also use AWS Rekognition to scan uploaded images for prohibited content as part of our content moderation process (see Section 6).
5.3 Email Service
We use an email service to send transactional emails including email verification codes and password reset messages. We do not send marketing or promotional emails.
6. Content Moderation
To maintain a safe platform, SGUsed uses automated moderation tools:
- Text moderation: Listing titles, descriptions, and messages are scanned against a list of prohibited terms. Flagged content is placed in a review queue for manual review by moderators.
- Image moderation: Uploaded images are scanned using AWS Rekognition to detect potentially inappropriate content. Flagged images are placed in a review queue.
- Message monitoring: Messages may be reviewed by administrators when necessary to investigate reports, prevent fraud, or enforce platform rules.
7. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We may share limited information in the following circumstances:
- With other users: Your username, profile photo, ratings, and listing information are visible to other users of the platform. Messages are visible to the other participant in the conversation.
- With service providers: We share data with Stripe and AWS as necessary to operate the platform, as described in Section 5.
- For legal compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of SGUsed, our users, or the public.
8. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your user record is removed from our database.
- Email verification codes: Automatically expire after 15 minutes.
- Payment event logs: Automatically deleted after 30 days.
- Messages, listings, and transaction records: Retained for as long as your account is active.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data: You can view your profile information, listings, messages, and transaction history within the app.
- Update your data: You can edit your profile and account information at any time through the app.
- Delete your account: You can permanently delete your account and associated data through the Settings screen in the app.
- Block other users: You can block users to prevent them from contacting you or viewing your listings.

10. Children's Privacy
SGUsed is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at hello@sgused.com and we will take steps to remove the account.
11. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:
- Hashing passwords and verification codes before storage
- Using HTTPS for all communications between the app and our servers
- Requiring authentication for access to account data and actions
- Verifying Stripe webhook signatures to prevent tampering
No system is completely secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
