These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SGUsed mobile application and related services (the "Platform"). By creating an account or using SGUsed, you agree to these Terms.
1. Operator of the Platform

2. About SGUsed
SGUsed is an online marketplace that connects buyers and sellers for the exchange of goods and services.
SGUsed does not own, inspect, or guarantee items listed on the platform and is not a party to transactions between users.
SGUsed provides payment processing and messaging tools to help facilitate safe transactions between users.
3. Eligibility
To use SGUsed you must:
- Be 18 years or older, or
- Be under 18 with parental or guardian permission
By using SGUsed you confirm that you meet these eligibility requirements.
SGUsed may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these requirements.
4. User Accounts
Users are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of their account
- All activity that occurs under their account
- Providing accurate information
Users may not:
- Impersonate another person
- Create accounts to evade restrictions
- Use the platform for fraudulent activity
SGUsed may suspend or terminate accounts at its discretion.
5. Buying and Selling
SGUsed allows users to list items and communicate with buyers and sellers.
SGUsed does not guarantee:
- The accuracy of listings
- The quality of items
- That buyers or sellers will complete transactions
Users are responsible for inspecting items before confirming pickup.
6. Payments and Escrow
Payments on SGUsed are processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor.
When a buyer purchases an item:
- The buyer's payment is held in escrow by SGUsed
- Funds are held until the buyer confirms pickup
Once pickup is confirmed:
- Payment is released to the seller
If a buyer does not confirm pickup within 48 hours of payment, SGUsed staff may contact both parties to review the transaction.
If the seller confirms that the item has not been delivered, escrow funds may be returned to the buyer and the transaction voided.
7. Fees
SGUsed charges the following marketplace fees:
- 5% seller fee for items under $500
- 2.5% seller fee for items $500 or more
Buyers are responsible for payment processing fees charged by Stripe:
- 2.9% + $0.30 (U.S. cards)
- 4.4% + $0.30 (international cards)
Stripe processing fees do not go to SGUsed.
8. Cancellations
Once a buyer submits payment, transactions cannot be directly canceled.
Buyers must contact support through the platform to report issues with delivery or request cancellation. Transactions will then be reviewed manually by SGUsed staff.
9. Disputes
If a buyer believes an item is not as described:
- SGUsed may review evidence submitted by both parties
- Refunds are not guaranteed
Users should not confirm pickup until the item has been inspected.
There is no strict time limit to file a dispute, but earlier reports increase the likelihood of a successful resolution.
Malicious disputes or fraudulent behavior may result in:
- Permanent account suspension
- Legal action
10. Payment Reversals
Once funds have been released to a seller, SGUsed cannot reverse payments.
In rare circumstances, SGUsed may offer a courtesy refund to a buyer and pursue recovery from the seller through legal means.
11. Prohibited Items
The following items are prohibited on SGUsed:
- Drugs
- Weapons
- Alcohol
- Stolen goods
- Counterfeit items
- Adult content
- Animals or pets
- Illegal goods or services
SGUsed reserves the right to remove prohibited listings without notice.
12. Content Moderation
SGUsed may use automated systems and moderation tools to monitor content.
These systems may:
- Scan listings and messages for prohibited language
- Detect attempts to exchange personal payment information
- Detect attempts to bypass the platform
Posts flagged by moderation systems may be placed in pending review.
Moderators may remove content without prior notice.
13. Messaging and Monitoring
Messages between users are stored on SGUsed servers.
Administrators may review messages when necessary to:
- Investigate reports
- Prevent fraud
- Enforce platform rules
Messages may also be scanned for attempts to share outside payment methods.
14. User Blocking
Users may block other users.
Blocked users cannot:
- Send messages
- Make offers
- View your listings
15. Reporting
Users may report:
- Posts
- Profiles
- Messages
SGUsed may review and investigate reports and take action including content removal or account suspension.
16. Account Suspension and Termination
SGUsed may suspend or permanently ban accounts for:
- Fraud
- Scams
- Abuse
- Violations of these Terms
Users may delete their accounts and data at any time.
17. Safety
Users should take reasonable precautions when meeting for transactions.
Safety recommendations include:
- Meeting in public locations
- Inspecting items thoroughly before confirming pickup
- Not confirming pickup until the item is received
18. Limitation of Liability
SGUsed is provided "as is" without warranties.
SGUsed is not responsible for:
- Losses resulting from transactions
- Misrepresentation of items
- User misconduct
- Payment processor errors
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Grenada, West Indies, which is considered the jurisdiction of both buyers and sellers using the platform.
20. Changes to Terms
SGUsed may update these Terms from time to time.
Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
